When someone invents a new brow trick, we tend to roll our eyes. At this point, it seems like everyone is fairly well versed in all of the tricks of the trade when it comes to getting solidly on-fleek brows. But makeup artist Amy Nadine of The Beauty Department just posted an explanation of an eyebrow trick that’s refreshingly new.

Nadine’s trick is called “browlighter,” and it involves using highlighter to “lift” your brows. This is how it works: You take your a highlighter or a concealer that’s a shade lighter than your foundation, and you dust it neatly in arcs both above and below your brows. Most people tend to skip the step of applying it above brows, but this makes all the difference. Blend it in with your fingers, and you have brand new eyebrows. Check out the tutorial below:

Nadine says she loves this trick because it’s an easy way to achieve three things in mere seconds. “First, the highlight above the brow creates the illusion that the brow is slightly raised,” says Nadine. “Second, the highlight below the brow creates the illusion that the lid is slightly raised. So both areas look ‘lifted.’ And third, both actions draw attention to the brows, lighting them up with a halo effect.” Want to know the exact products Nadine used?
